I'm curious as to if my hunch is right that either a value isn't being set or a typo was made. (I know they are bogus because when I compared them, the !ut files had the correct information and the non !ut files were useless.) From experience, such seeming randomness is often the result of a variable either not being set or it is being set but isn't being correctly referenced. Like with the creation of the bogus files, it's like it's randomly not checking to see if files are already there and allocating the files (without the !ut extension) but once they're made, it forgets about them and uses the !ut files that were already there. To put it into programming speak (sort of), it seems like it's skipping a step at times or a value isn't properly set (which if set properly would trigger the step that seems like is being skipped). The content youre downloading is being sourced (uploaded) from various pcs who are general users like you. Maybe the other issue I mentioned isn't related but I have a feeling it is.

After it starts and sees it's finished, it renames the files as it should.

uTorrent is not only one client of BitTorrent, there are other BitTorrent clients available that can able to download your torrent file. Download Torrent files from another BitTorrent Client. I believe there is another issue at play here that is causing this issue. The only thing you can do here is to find another similar torrent file available. I checked the port that uTorrent uses on and the site said that the port is open. I went into the setup guide of uTorrent and my network check says: 'Port is not open (you are still able to download)'. In fact, mine is set to just do nothing special. Some torrent actually did download but is not seeding right now.

Is the file not there in full in any server because I find that all peers logged in trying to download the file, all of them have it stuck at 95.4. The file downloads upto 95.4 and then gets stuck. I don't have it set to do either of those things. There is a file available called and this file is not downloading completely.

Haven't confirmed it yet but, a bit annoying. I think it's mostly happening if I have uTorrent set to auto close or shutdown when down downloading.
